Happy Easter: Hot cross buns

Ken built on his previous baking success by making hot cross buns on Good Friday. We used the recipe from the BBC site and, although I’ve never had a hot cross bun before in my life, I’m pretty sure these were super awesome.

Possibly the best thing about these buns was that we chose our own fruit to go in. I like sultanas and raisins in Raisin Bran cereal and raisin bagels. And that’s about it. So we added dried pineapple, cranberries, apricots and dates instead.

According to Wikipedia, making hot cross buns on Good Friday is terribly lucky – and there are a whole bunch of other interesting superstitions too!

Don't they look delicious?
